The «there & back» column assumes 80 metres a minute — walking pace with a full glass — and checks whether you make it back before the shade does.

Basel's buvettes publish their prices almost nowhere. Exactly one figure could be verified from an official menu. The rest is fieldwork. The «sun until» column, by contrast, is computed.

§ 4 Survey procedure. Data is collected on site, by the responsible officer, in their own interest. A value counts as recorded once the glass is empty. Duplicate surveys on the same day are permitted and expressly encouraged.
